
Ospreys Drop Heartbreaker to Rival JU

In the first meeting between North Florida and Jacksonville in the annual SunTrust River City Rumble, the visiting Dolphins snuck by the Ospreys, 1-0, for a point in the “Battle for the Barrel” standings.
The Ospreys played a solid game on defense.
Willets recorded a career high eight saves on the night. The freshman's performance ties for fifth most saves in a match. Willets was balanced recording four saves in each half. In addition to his eight saves, the Gulf Breeze,
UNF had its chances offensively, recording nine shots on the night including four shots on goal. The Ospreys also missed several opportunities as the Dolphins intercepted numerous crosses inside the box.
Senior Adam O'Neill and freshmen Austin Doyle and Patrik Lippe led the UNF attack with two shots apiece. Both of O'Neill's shots were on goal, while Doyle and junior Julian Botella each added shots on goal.
The match was physical with the two teams combining for 30 fouls on the night. The Dolphins recorded 17 fouls, while the Ospreys were whistled for 13.
The two teams entered intermission deadlocked at 0-0. The visiting Dolphins were aggressive in the first half, often to a fault. JU was flagged for six offsides in the first half, helping UNF keep the score knotted at 0-0.
UNF recorded four shots in the first half with a pair of shots on goal. O'Neill had a shot on goal in the first half that was deflected by the JU goalkeeper. Botella's shot on goal was also corralled, leaving the match scoreless in the first 45.
