
Ospreys Fall on Senior Night

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida men's soccer team celebrated Senior Night before its match against Campbell, but was unable to come away with a win, falling 1-0 on Saturday night at Hodges Stadium.
The Ospreys recorded 11 shots on the night with five shots on goal. Campbell took 16 shots, with six shots on goal. Each goalie recorded four saves on the night and each team had a team save.
Senior Adam O'Neill paced UNF with three shots on the night while freshmen Austin Doyle and Ricky Lawrence each registered two shots apiece. Doyle, O'Neill, along with Enrique Haeussler, Patrik Lippe and Calvin Lowe each recorded shot on goal on the night.
Campbell was led by Khalil Johnson, who boasted a team-high five shots, including a team-best two shots on goal and a goal. Brian Urioste added the helper on Johnson's goal.
Between the posts, junior keeper Andrew Calise recorded four saves on the night. He was aided by Lippe who kept the ball out of the net with a header over the crossbar for the final save of the night.
Campbell's Ryan Amons picked up the win for the Camels. The goalie recorded four saves on the night and was aided by a team save.
Campbell was the first team to score, netting a goal in the 41st minute of the first half. Johnson took a pass from Urioste. Johnson took a shot from the right side of the field and put the ball in the top left corner of the goal to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Neither team was able to score in the final four minutes of play and the two teams went into intermission with Campbell leading 1-0.
In the second half, neither team was able to score. The Camels edged the Ospreys 7-to-6 on shots in the second stanza. However, North Florida took four shots on goal in the second period compared to just three by Campbell.
North Florida returns to action on Friday, Oct. 29, as the Ospreys travel to DeLand, Fla. to take on Stetson at 7 p.m.
