Rutenbar eventually moved to third when the Lady Ospreys loaded the bases thanks to a walk and an error and scored the second run of the inning when Amanda Moseley reached on an infield single.
The Lady Ospreys extended the lead to 3-0 in the top of the third when Airen Payne led off the inning with a single and eventually came around to score when Brittanie Block reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded.
While the offense was building a 3-0 lead through the first three innings of play, Findley was cruising in the pitcher's circle, with a hit batter as her only blemish her first time through the Lady Bucs' lineup. Findley threw only 28 pitches in the first three innings of play and faced the minimum nine batters after Ashley Battaglia picked off a runner at first base.
UNF finally turned on the power in the top of the sixth to close the game out. Brittanie Block and Battaglia both went deep for the Lady Ospreys in the inning, upping the advantage to 6-0. UNF added four more runs in the seventh with Amy Kraus coming off the bench to drive in one of those runs and score another one. Battaglia added two more RBIs to her totals, driving home Godwin and Block with a single. She finished the game 4-for-5 at the plate with four RBIs and a run.
Findley did not allow a runner past first in the win, striking out seven of the final nine batters she faced.
Findley came on in relief of Shaina Dent in the sixth inning of a 1-1 tie, working the Lady Ospreys out a jam in the sixth before working around runners in scoring position in the eighth and ninth innings of play. She struck out eight of the 12 batters she faced, with the only runners reaching base because of an error and the international tie-breaker rule, which places a runner on second to lead off the eighth and ninth innings of play.
Amanda Moseley provided Findley (5-9) with the win in the top of the ninth when she drove home Kraus with her second hit of the game.
The Lady Ospreys slugged out 15 hits in game one before collecting seven in the second game.
