
UNF ends meet with three new records

Lady Ospreys have five total all-conference showings
ATHENS, Ga. - The University of North Florida women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships on Saturday.
The Lady Ospreys broke three more school records for a total of 11 for the meet. Sophomore Lyn Ann Nelson led the way with another record in the 100-free. Nelson finished second in the 100-free finals after swimming it in 50.58 to finish in second place. She broke a total of four UNF records and two CCSA records for the meet.
Freshman Taylor Crosby also set a new record in the 200-breast after clocking in at 2:21.44 in the preliminary. Crosby finished fourth in the final.
Sophomore Patricia Lanoue, who earned all-conference honors in the 200-fly last year, shattered the record at this year's meet by swimming the final race in 2:03.75. The previous record was 2:07.70. Lanoue finished in second place in the event for the second year in a row.
Senior Caroline Poling also bested the previous UNF record, clocking in at 2:04.03 in the preliminaries.
UNF finished the meet in fifth place and had five all-conference showings. Nelson had three of them, coming in the 100-free, 200-free and 500-free. She won the 200-free on Friday and made the NCAA "B" Cut.
Florida Gulf Coast won the team championship for the women with 887 points. The Eagles were followed by Davidson (653), Georgia Southern (472), Gardner-Webb (457), UNF (435), College of Charleston (237), Campbell (190), Radford (128), Howard (122), North Carolina A&T (79), VMI (52) and Florida A&M (42).
