
Track teams wrap up day one of championships

Jacksonville, Fla.- The Ospreys got off to a promising but rocky start in the first day of the Atlantic Sun Indoor Championships. Still, Ospreys performed well individually in the jumps, pentathlon, 3000m, hurdles and sprints that took place.
Elise Trexler posted the highest individual result of the day with a fourth place finish for a high jump of 1.68m. Just behind her was Anne DelBovo in seventh, with a 1.48m jump.
The women placed fourth out of six in distance medley with a team of Brooke Baumann, Evelyn Moore, Kayla Conrad and Erin Heasley. Andrea Bridges took fifth in the pentathlon, but did well in several individual events. She tied for second in the high jump and took third in the long jump.
Noah Thompson, one of UNF's newest athletes, took sixth place out of twelve vaulters with a pole vault of 4.15m.
Charisma Anderson and Keva Stephens both had excellent heats in the 60m dash, placing fourth and fifth, respectively, in their heats. They took seventh and 10th in the finals.
The 3000m was a high point for the men, where Mike Strasser took third in his heat, followed by Johnathan Esteban in eighth and Will Pearce in 10th. Johnathan took eighth in the finals, followed by Mike Strasser in 12th and Will Pearce in 13th.
Rachel Stanley had a fifth place heat in the 60m hurdles and 16th overall. Erin Heasley took sixth in her heat for the 3000m and finished 17th overall.
