(Indoor Track): Took third place in the pole vault at the A-Sun Championships with a personal-best mark of 15-1. (Outdoor Track): Set a new personal record in the pole vault with a mark of 15-1 at both the North Florida Invitational (sixth) and USF Collegiate Meet (third)…Finished sixth in the javelin at the USF Collegiate Meet with a mark of 142-5.
SOPHOMORE (2009-10)
(Indoor Track): Finished fifth in the pole vault with a personal-best clearance of the bar set at 14-1 1/4 at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships … placed second in the pole vault with a mark of 14-1 1/4 at the Embry-Riddle Indoor/Outdoor Challenge where he also clocked a personal-best 60 meter time of 7.61. (Outdoor Track): Placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 14-10 at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, in addition to finishing ninth in the javelin throw with a personal-best mark of 150-9 … turned in a third-place finish in the pole vault (13-3 1/2) at the UNF Osprey Challenge … also finished fifth in the pole vault (13-5 3/4) at the FSU Seminole Invite.
FRESHMAN (2008-09)
(Indoor Track): Finished sixth in the pole vault with a mark of 13-7 1/4 at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships. (Outdoor Track): Competed in the pole vault in four different meets on the year … posted his best finish and height at the UNF Osprey Challenge, reaching a mark of 14-11 to finish second … placed third at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships with a mark of 14-7 1/4 to earn Third-Team All-A-Sun honors.
PREP AND PERSONAL
Coached by Jan Murphey … advanced to the State Cross Country Championships individually as a sophomore and as a team during his junior and senior seasons … competed in the pole vault from eighth grade through his senior year … holds the school record in the pole vault with a mark of 14-6 … placed third in the pole vault at the State Championships as a sophomore and claimed the individual title as a junior and senior … born on June 22 … son of Rich and Lynne Thompson … has two younger brothers, Nehemiah and Elijah, and one older sister, Hannah… majoring in Graphic Design.
