North Florida to Face Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of North Florida women's basketball team will be back in action following a nine-day break for exams when it faces the Atlantic Coast Conference's Wake Forest on Monday, Dec. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Leading the Ospreys (1-6, 0-2 A-Sun) is sophomore guard Brittany Kirkland with 12.3 points per game. Junior guard Juliemay Syquio is adding nine points per game while senior forward Arlande Cherizol is pulling down a team best eight rebounds per game.

For the Demon Deacons (6-2, 0-0 ACC) Brittany Waters is putting up 20.6 points per game. Sandra Garcia is adding 11.4 points per game while pulling down a team high 9.8 rebounds per game.

This is the first time that UNF and Wake has met in women's basketball. The Ospreys are 0-4 against teams from the ACC including a loss to Florida State to start the season. UNF will also play Miami following the holiday break.

Following Monday's game the Ospreys will return home to host the Osprey Holiday Classic, Dec. 17-18. South Carolina State, Savannah State and Jacksonville State will join UNF in the tournament with games being played at 3 and 5 p.m. on those days.
