
Women’s Basketball Travels South to Face USF

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida will travel to Tampa, Fla. on Saturday, Nov. 21 to face Big East opponent, South Florida. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the Sun Dome.
UNF (0-2) enters its third game after facing two top-25 teams in its first two games of the season. The Ospreys opened at then No. 12/15 ranked Florida State and followed that with a trip to No. 22 Pittsburgh.
Leading the Ospreys is sophomore guard Brittany Kirkland with 9.5 points per game. Freshman forward Jadhken Kerr is adding 7.5 points per game. Senior forward Arlande Cherizol is posting five rebounds per game.
The Bulls (1-2) have had a pair of losses in the early season, dropping their season opener to Florida A&M, 73-68 in overtime. USF also fell to Wake Forest, 62-45 in its last outing. The Bulls picked up an 88-72 win over Saint Peter's.
Leading the Bulls is Jessica Lawson with 17 points and 13 rebounds per game. Janae Stokes is also averaging 17 points per game while KaNeisha Saunders is putting up 12 points per game.
This is the fourth meeting between the two teams with USF having won the previous three. The first meeting came during the 2005-06 when UNF was beginning its transition into NCAA Division I status. The Ospreys are 0-5 against teams from the Big East including this past Tuesday's game against Pitt.
Following Saturday's game the Ospreys will host Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday, Nov. 24 in their home opener at 7 p.m. in UNF Arena.
