PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of North Florida women's basketball team will battle No. 22 (ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll) preseason ranked University of Pittsburgh on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. in the Petersen Events Center on the Pitt campus.
This is UNF's (0-1) second game of the season and its second against a ranked opponent. The Ospreys opened the season at No. 12/15 ranked Florida State. Sophomore guard Brittany Kirkland led the team with 12 points, while freshman guard Dori Lansbach added 11 points.
Pittsburgh (0-0) will open the season against the Ospreys. The Panthers faced Seton Hall in their final exhibition game of the season. Shayla Scott had 20 points, while Jania Sims tallied 14 in the 91-60 win. Pitt returns four starters from a team that went 25-8 last season.
This is the first meeting between the two teams. North Florida has faced two other Big East teams in its history, Rutgers and South Florida. The Ospreys are 0-4 against teams from the Big East.
