UNF visits Stetson at 9 p.m. on Thursday
Â
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –  The University of North Florida women's basketball team will try to do something neither team has done in the series history when it visits Stetson for a regionally-televised Atlantic Sun Conference contest Thursday at 9 p.m.
Â
The game will be carried live on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast.
Â
UNF (2-15, 1-7 A-Sun) is 0-3 all-time at Stetson (7-10, 4-4) and both teams have posted three wins on their respective home floor. A UNF win would mark the first on the road for either team during the series, which began in the 2005-06 season.
Â
The Lady Ospreys have allowed at least 60 points in their last four contests and have fallen by an average of 17 points during their current 12-game slide. During that stretch, the UNF has eclipsed the 50-point mark only twice and has been held to less than 40 points on three occasions.
Â
On the season, the Lady Ospreys have shot .322 percent from the field and only .250 percent from behind the 3-point arc. Opponents have tallied a .402 shooting percentage against UNF and fired true on .326 percent of their attempts from downtown.
Â
Thursday's opponent has lost three of its last four, all of which were in A-Sun play. Stetson notched its lone win in that stint against Kennesaw State on the road (77-65). The Lady Hatters dropped the only two contests played at Edmunds Center in 2009 to USC Upstate and East Tennessee State.
Â
The Hatters knocked off UNF in the final weekend of play last season, 60-45, before winning its first three home games this season. Thursday's game will mark only the sixth home game for Stetson this season.

Who's Hot: Freshman Kayla Mobley set a career high with 12 rebounds against Campbell in UNF's most recent action. She grabbed five on the offensive glass and added five points in 23 minutes of play. Mobley has notched at least 10 rebounds in four games this season and has posted two double-doubles.
Â
Quoting Coach Tappmeyer: "Realistically, we have a very young lineup. We are getting experience, but are learning things the hard way, which will be great for our experience down the road, but is tough in conference play against teams with experience backcourts. We put three freshmen on the court a lot of times, and even our 'seasoned' point guard is a sophomore. It is asking a lot for them to be on the level that most of our opposition is on, but good things are in store for the program."
Â
Gameday Notables: UNF is in its final season of the four-year transition into Division I … the Lady Ospreys are 3-2 all-time when playing on Jan. 22 … UNF is currently on an 12-game skid, which is the longest losing streak in program history (was seven from Dec. 30, 2004 to Jan. 22, 2005) … UNF is 0-3 all-time at Stetson, with the home team winning every time in the six meetings of the series … the Lady Ospreys are yet to win a road game this season in six tries … the Lady Ospreys are coming off their best finish since entering the transitional period, finishing with a 13-16 overall record and 8-8 A-Sun record in 2007-08 … seniors Jennifer Bowen and Jennifer Guldager have been with the team through every season of the reclassification process.
