EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A 53-minute lightning delay slowed the University of North Florida men's soccer game against Evansville on Friday night in the Evansville ProRehab Classic, but it could not strike the outcome, and the Purple Aces pushed past the Ospreys, 1-0.

UNF (1-2-1) fired four shots on goal in the contest, which equaled the total of the Purple Aces. Evansville (4-0-0) topped the Ospreys in total shots, 7-4, in the first half and carried their one goal advantage into halftime.

At the 20:37 mark of the match, Evansville's Tyler Crawford took a pass from Robby Lynch and beat UNF goalkeeper Tony Restino from the right side of the box. The attack began off a throw-in by Tom Irvin.

After a halftime that lasted a little more than an hour, the Ospreys came out shooting, taking seven shots in the second half, compared to six by Evansville. Restino made three saves in the contest while Purple Aces keeper Phil Boerger made four.

All four shots on goal for UNF were taken by a different player. Seniors Mikhail Awai and Oscar Ortiz each honed in for a shot on goal while junior Sebastian Bianchi and sophomore Akil DeFreitas did the same.

The Ospreys continue and conclude their participation in the Evansville ProRehab Classic on Sunday at 1 p.m., battling No. 25 Bradley, who was upset in its final minutes of the match on Friday night by Valparaiso, 1-0.
