UNF is 3-0 all-time in Boiling Springs
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida baseball team will close out its 2008 season with a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series against Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C.
The series will begin at 3 p.m. on Thursday with a single game, followed by a 1 p.m. twinbill on Friday. It will be the second-straight season the Ospreys conclude the season with the Bulldogs. GWU won last season's series 2-1 in Jacksonville.
UNF is coming off a close 5-2 loss to No. 1 Miami on Tuesday in Coral Gables, Fla. The Ospreys stood toe-to-toe with the Hurricanes, taking the game's first lead with a run in the top of the fourth. But a two-run home run by UM All-American candidate Yonder Alonso put Miami up for good.
The Bulldogs took two of three from Norfolk State last weekend in a non-conference series in Boiling Springs. GWU leads the A-Sun in batting average with a .325 clip. Justin Loyd tops the Bulldogs in offensive output with 48 RBIs.
