Ospreys are 3-0 all-time against Florida
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida baseball team will head down to Gainesville, Fla., on Tuesday and Wednesday in hopes of duplicating its magical win over Florida last Wednesday.
The Ospreys will take on the 21st -ranked Gators at 6:30 p.m. at McKethan Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday in the teams' final meetings of the season. UNF upset then-No. 13 Florida last Wednesday in Gainesville in thrilling fashion, coming back to win the game 11-10 in 10 innings after letting a four-run lead slip away. Junior RHP Ty Pryor picked up the win, while junior closer Tyler Stohr notched his seventh save of the season. Senior Chad Knight smashed a career-high five hits, which included the game-winner in the top of the 10th.
UNF took two of three over the weekend from Atlantic Sun Conference foe Campbell. After winning Friday night's marathon in the bottom of the ninth after a one hour and 15 minute rain delay, the Ospreys dropped Saturday's first game of a scheduled doubleheader 10-4 in a rain-shortened five innings. A conference rule declared the game official. UNF recovered to take the final game of the series 9-2 on Monday.
UF dropped its SEC series against Tennessee over the weekend after falling in the first two games. The Gators rebounded to win the final game, 7-2. Sophomore RHP Kyle Mullaney will start the game for UF. Mullaney is 0-1 with a 9.82 ERA as a starter and will making his third start of the season.
