Ospreys up for in-state showdowns

UNF is 6-5 against Florida teams this year
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida baseball team will step out of conference for games against familiar in-state foes on Tuesday and Wednesday.
UNF will take on UCF at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Harmon Stadium. The Ospreys defeated the then- 19th-ranked Knights in Orlando on March 25, 8-5. The Ospreys got three-hit performances from sophomore Andrew Hannon and senior T.J. Gaudy and a 5.1 inning, two-hit relief clinic from sophomore RHP Tucker Pryor.
On Wednesday, the Ospreys will head to Tallahassee, Fla., to take on the only Division I in-state opponent it has not defeated - No. 1 Florida State. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. UNF lost twice to the Seminoles last season in Tallahassee.
The Ospreys went 2-3 last week, with tough midweek losses to No. 21 Florida in Gainesville, Fla., by scores of 5-3 and 3-2. UNF took two of three from Atlantic Sun Conference foe Mercer in Macon, Ga., over the weekend for its fourth-straight conference series victory.
