The University of North Florida women's basketball team will step out of conference play for the final time this season when it travels to Savannah State on Wednesday night for a second meeting with the Tigers this season.
UNF (11-13) won its first matchup with Savannah State on Jan. 2, beginning the new year with a win and also starting a three-game winning streak in the process. Shandrea Moore scored 15 points to lead the Lady Ospreys in that contest, while Willonda Windham notched her first double-double, scoring 11 points and pulling down 12 rebounds in the 56-46 win.
The Lady Ospreys closed out that Savannah State (12-15) contest on a 17-7 run to earn its fourth win in a row against the Tigers.
UNF will try to bounce back from a 63-50 loss to cross-town rival Jacksonville on Saturday. Jennifer Bowen led the squad with 16 points in that game and has been averaging better than 18 points her last three outings. The junior is leading UNF with 10.9 points a game and is second on the team, averaging 5.1 rebounds a game.
The Lady Ospreys will follow up their Savannah State meeting with a pair of home games against Mercer and Kennesaw State over the weekend.

Who's Hot: Jennifer Bowen has averaged better than 18 points her last three outings and upped her season average to 10.9 points a game ... the Lady Ospreys have won twof of their last three road games after starting the season 0-for-5 on the road ... Shandrea Moore scored 11 points in the first half against JU and 15 for the game, finishing one point off of her career-high.
