Ospreys to host Tigers at UNF Arena on Tuesday night
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's basketball team will play a rare February non-conference game on Tuesday night when it hosts Savannah State at UNF Arena. The Ospreys and Tigers met earlier this season, with the Tigers winning 58-32 in Savannah on Nov. 27.
The Tigers are a Division I independent and have played numerous teams from the Atlantic Sun Conference this season. The Tigers are 1-5 against A- Sun competition, having upended UNF while losing to Kennesaw State twice, Jacksonville twice and Stetson once. They will also play at Stetson on Feb. 19.
UNF will try to win for the first time in 21 games and erase the bad taste from an 0-2 road trip through Nashville last weekend. Tuesday night's game is also a tuneup for Friday night's showdown with cross-town rival Jacksonville in the SunTrust River City Rumble, which will be played downtown at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
