Ospreys open Hoosier State swing

UNF plays at IPFW on Saturday at 2 p.m.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - After an eight-day Christmas layoff, the University of North Florida men's basketball team will return to action this weekend in the Hoosier State when it plays a pair of non-conference games to round out its pre-Atlantic Sun Conference schedule.
The Ospreys will play at IPFW on Saturday before traveling to Notre Dame on Monday.
Along the way, the Ospreys did pick up at least one sizable Christmas gift - in the form of sophomore guard Stan Januska, who has been cleared to play after missing the team's first 10 games with a broken foot suffered during preseason workouts. The Morehead State transfer will suit up for the first time as an Osprey after returning to practice in mid-December. He will open his UNF career as a reserve coming off the bench.
UNF ended its pre-Christmas schedule with a two-game swing through south Florida - losing a tight game to Florida Atlantic on Dec. 18 (70- 64) before outscoring 22nd-ranked Miami in the second half but still falling 85-63 to the Hurricanes in Coral Gables on Dec. 20. This weekend's games will offer a contrast in weather for the Ospreys, who will depart Jacksonville with temperatures hovering in the 70s (and lows in the high 40s). Forecasts in Indiana call for highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s.
