
UNF succombs to 3-point barrage

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The
University of North Florida women's basketball team
couldn't hold off a 3-point barrage by East
Tennessee State in the opening half of play in an 82-
52 loss in Johnson City, Tenn., Saturday afternoon.
ETSU (14-7, 10-4 A-Sun) hit 15-of-20 (.750) shots
beyond the arc on the day to help itself sweep the
season series with UNF (9-13, 7-7 A-Sun).
Andrea Dill led the Lady Ospreys in scoring for the
second-straight game and third in the last four. She
finished the contest with 11 points. C.C. Woolfolk
scored eight points, while Antoinette Reames
followed her with seven points and a game high
seven rebounds. All 12 Lady Ospreys that saw action
finished with at least two points and UNF received 28
points off the bench.
Atlantic Sun Conference leading scorer B.J. Banjo
finished the game with 16 points, hitting five shots
from long range.
UNF trailed by 16 at the half, but made a charge to
open the second half, going on a 7-0 run to cut the
ETSU advantage to nine. Tamara Hubbard began the
run with a layup, while Reames followed that with
two points in the paint. Dill finally capped the 7-0
stretch with a 3-pointer.
UNF hit 5-of-18 shots from long range.
ETSU held a 10-point advantage for most of the
second half, before going on a 22-5 run to pull away
for good.
UNF outrebounded ETSU 38-35 and blocked three
shots. Dill collected two of those blocks, while
Reames had one.
Four Lady Bucs scored in double figures, led by
Banjo's 16. Michelle DeVault and Holly Moring scored
15 apiece, while Brooke Wilhoit scored 12.
ETSU shot 52 percent from the field in the opening
half, and hit 10-of-13 shots beyond the 3-point arc
to grab a 42-26 lead. Banjo accounted for four of
those 3-pointers, scoring all 12 of her first-half
points from long range.
The Lady Ospreys will take a week off before hosting
Florida Atlantic next Saturday at 2 p.m. Live
