
UNF downs Flagler, 8-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sadry Cafe went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs to propel the North Florida baseball team to an 8-3 win over Flagler on Tuesday night at Harmon Stadium.
UNF (40-11) defeated the Saints (29-22) for the third time this season and improved its all-time record in the series to 39-7. More importantly, the second-ranked Ospreys won their 40th game, the sixth time in seven seasons they have won 40 or more contests.
UNF played 22 of its available 28 players and used five pitchers in the contest. Andy Warren was 2-for- 2 with a run scored and two RBIs after entering the game in the sixth inning.
Robert McNeal (1-0) started for the Ospreys and was on a predetermined two-inning workload. He allowed three hits and struck out one to earn his first win of the year. Bobby Kane (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing three first-inning runs and two hits in two innings of work. The Saints also used five pitchers in the game.
UNF scored three runs in the first inning on run- scoring singles by Café and Josh Howard. Flagler sliced into that lead with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, but UNF added five runs in their next two at-bats to put the game away.
Adam Blount was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Saints.
UNF will close out its regular season with four games next week against nationally ranked opponents at Harmon Stadium. The Ospreys will play third-ranked Florida Southern on May 10-11 at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, and then face 18th-ranked Tampa on May13-14.
