Sara Farris joined the North Florida staff as an assistant athletic trainer in May of 2023. She will assist primarily with the UNF softball and swimming programs.

Farris earned her bachelor's of science in athletic training from UNF in 2016 before starting a nearly seven-year stint at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn. Farris started out working with the football and wrestling programs as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, earning her master's degree in 2018. She also worked as an adjunct professor, assistant athletic trainer and eventually the head athletic trainer before taking the role at North Florida.

While an undergraduate student at UNF, Farris handled clinicals at The Bolles School, Jacksonville University, UNF and Creekside High School. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association and Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Association. Farris is a certified athletic trainer, Tennessee licensed athletic trainer, CPR/AED certified and First Aid - American Life & Health Professionals Foundation certified.
