Biography
2014-15 (Junior): Tallied a 6-4 overall singles record and a 4-4 doubles mark… claimed a 6-1, 6-2 No. 6 singles win over Siriporn Phakamad of Jackson State (Mar. 8) in only spring match… won the Flight 5 Singles title at the 2014 Bedford Cup, going 3-0… had a four-match winning streak in singles during the fall… teamed with both Michelle Valdez and Quetzali Vazquez in doubles during the fall… won three of last four doubles matches in the fall.
2013-14 (Sophomore): Tallied an 8-3 overall record for singles and 4-3 mark in doubles… went undefeated in during singles competition in dual matches, going 5-0… was 4-0 in Atlantic Sun singles matches… split time at No. 5 (3-0) and No. 6 (2-0) singles… advanced to the consolation singles finals at the Bedford Cup (Oct. 10-13)… had a four-match winning streak with doubles partner Esther Zuniga at No. 3 doubles to complete the regular season… Atlantic Sun Academic Honor Roll selection.
2012-13 (Freshman): Named All-Atlantic Sun Second Team for singles… also one of five unanimous selections to the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman team… went 13-7 overall in singles, 6-4 in dual matches and 6-0 in conference singles play… went undefeated at the FGCU Invite (Jan.19-21) going 3-0 in the Flight 6 singles bracket and 3-0 in the Flight 3 doubles bracket… defeated Northern Kentucky’s Jamie Diaz 6-0, 6-1 (Apr. 12)… beat FGCU’s Bettina Botha 7-5, 6-3 (Apr. 7)… posted an 8-5 overall in doubles, 5-5 in dual matches and 0-1 in conference doubles matches… partnered with Marina Cunningham to defeat South Alabama’s Mary Angela Martin and Cinta Papke 8-3 (Feb. 24)… also beat South Carolina State’s Laura Bosneag and Victoriia Khatcei 8-3 (Feb. 22)
Other Experience: Singles Finalist in the Junior Fed Cup in 2007... third-place in the Junior Fed Cup in the 16s... won the 14s Copa del Cafe doubles tournament in 2007... doubles Champion of the 2012 Cariari Bowl... took third-place in doubles at the El Salvador tournament in 2010... ranked No.1 in Costa Rica from 2007-2008.
Personal: Is double majoring in Finance and Accounting... daughter of Jose Calderon and Mayela Castro... has two brothers, Manfred and Aleksivan, and three sisters, Maria Alexandra, Marianne and Rachel.
