
Baseball Run-Rules Jacksonville To Secure River City Rumble Series, 10-0

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Baseball secured its River City Rumble series over Jacksonville with a 10-0 seven-inning run-rule win in Game 3 at Harmon Stadium on Sunday.
North Florida has now won five of its six games against Jacksonville this season. Over North Florida's six games against Jacksonville this season, the Ospreys out-scored the Dolphins 45-20.
It marked North Florida's second series win over Jacksonville this season. It's the first time North Florida has won two series over JU in the same season since 2021.
Redshirt junior utility player Jackson Toberman led the way offensively for North Florida with a 1-1 outing, one home run, two RBI, two runs and three walks. Toberman's homer marked his sixth of the season.
Redshirt junior utility player Boone Hosey worked a pair of walks to improve his on-base streak to 33 games.
Sophomore right-handed pitcher Trevor Nikolis delivered a solid start on the mound for North Florida. Nikolis pitched 4.2 innings and allowed just one hit while posting three strikeouts.
Redshirt-senior right-handed pitcher John Costa entered in relief of Nikolis and shoved 2.1 shutout innings without allowing a hit. Costa gave up just one walk while dealing one strikeout.
Toberman opened the scoring with a two-run opposite-field home run in the bottom of the second inning.Â
North Florida broke the game open with a five-run fourth frame. Redshirt sophomore outfielder Carter White plated a pair of runs with a RBI single to center field in the bottom of the fourth inning to put UNF ahead, 4-0.
Redshirt freshman outfielder Sean Benjamin belted an RBI double down the left-field line in the bottom of the fourth frame to extend North Florida's lead to 5-0.
Redshirt junior utility player Jackson Schrafft drove in White with a sacrifice fly to right field later in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Ospreys a 6-0 advantage.
Freshman infielder Drew Buchanan capped off UNF's five-run fourth frame with an RBI double down the left-field line, allowing North Florida to command a 7-0 edge.
White tallied his third RBI of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with a hard hit ball to first base that plated Hosey. White's third RBI gave North Florida an 8-0 advantage.
Junior infielder Mitchell Collins drove an opposite-field RBI double down the left-field line in the bottom of the sixth frame to put UNF ahead, 9-0.
Schrafft secured the run-rule walk-off win with a double in the left-center field gap in the bottom of the seventh inning.
