
Men's Tennis Falls At No. 63 South Florida

Tampa, Fla. – North Florida Men's Tennis fell, 6-1, in its regular season finale at No. 63 South Florida in Tampa, Fla. on Thursday.Â
Due to the threat of rain, Thursday's match opened with singles play. Graduate student Andreas Scott earned a ranked singles win with a 7-5, 6-3 win over South Florida's 99th-ranked Hugo Car on the top court. For Scott, it marked his seventh-consecutive singles win on the number one court.
However, 63rd-ranked South Florida would take the singles point with wins on courts two, three, four, five and six.
In doubles play, graduate Breno Marques and junior Enrique Pena earned a 6-4 win on court three. For Pena, he improved to 7-1 in doubles play. With the win, Marques earned a team-high 10th doubles win. South Florida would take courts one and two to reach the eventual final.
North Florida will travel to Fort Myers, Florida, for the 2026 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship, hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University, with competition beginning April 14. The top-seeded Ospreys will face the winner of Austin Peay and Bellarmine in the Quarterfinal round on Wednesday, April 15 at 9 a.m. ET.
