TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - North Florida Baseball fell in Game 1 of its weekend series at Alabama, 7-2, at Sewell-Thomas Stadium on Friday.

Junior outfielder Gialdri Gomez crushed a two-run home run to right field in the top of the top of the fifth inning to cut North Florida's deficit to 3-2. It marked Gomez' first home run as an Osprey. Gomez finished the night 2-3 with two RBI, one run and one home run.

Redshirt junior Boone Hosey and redshirt freshman outfielder Sean Benjamin each added 1-4 outings, respectively.

Redshirt junior left-handed pitcher Dakota Stone turned in a solid start on the mound for North Florida. Stone dealt 4.0 innings and allowed three runs with six strikeouts and just two walks. He improved on his team-high total in strikeouts and now has 27 in four appearances in 2026.

Alabama plated one run in the second inning, two in the third, two in the fifth and two in the seventh to bring the score to its eventual final margin.
