Track And Field Earns ASUN Indoor Track and Field Postseason Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced that North Florida Men's and Women's Track and Field earned 2026 ASUN Indoor Track and Field Postseason Honors on Tuesday.Â
Junior Rey Hernandez was named ASUN Track Performer of the Year, while junior Tyshone Bolden earned ASUN Field Performer of the Year. Graduate student Aiden Arnold and junior Nicole Shepherd swept ASUN Scholar Athlete of the Year honors.Â

North Florida finished runner-up at the 2026 ASUN Indoor Championships on both the men's and women's side, the program's best placements in the event.

North Florida earned the maximum six student-athletes on each of the Academic All-ASUN Teams. In addition to Shepherd, junior Navia Casa, junior Renske Drenten, junior Melissa Epting, senior Ana Markovina and junior Katerina Natsiopoulou earned Academic All-ASUN honors. In addition to Arnold, senior Ryan Douihech, junior Andrew Mahorner, sophomore William Montanye, sophomore William Owens and sophomore Alejandro Romagosa secured Academic All-ASUN honors. Â

Hernandez was named the 2026 ASUN Men's Indoor Track and Field MVP after a first-place finish in the Men's 200m, second-place finish in the Men's 60mH and third-place finish in the Men's 60m for a total of three podium finishes at the ASUN Indoor Championships. Hernandez claimed the title in the Men's 200m with a program-record time of 21.12. He set the program-record in the Men's 60m with a time of 6.78 in the prelims at the ASUN Indoor Championships. He set the program-record in the Men's 60mH with a time of 7.89 at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational.Â

Bolden claimed the title with a first-place finish in the Men's High Jump with a personal-best height of 2.07m at the ASUN Indoor Championships. He placed top-five in the event in four different meets.Â

Arnold has a 4.0 grade-point average and is obtaining his Master's degree in Kinesiology. He is a two-time ASUN Academic Honor Roll and CSC Academic All-District Team selection. Arnold scored at the ASUN Indoor Championships with a sixth-place finish in the Men's Mile with a personal-best time of 4:03.91. He also notched two first-place finishes in the Men's Mile this season. He ran the anchor leg in the Men's Distance Medley Relay that clocked a silver-medal time of 9:47.91 at the ASUN Indoor Championships. He was named ASUN Indoor Track Performer of the Week on Feb. 11.

Shepherd boasts a 3.99 grade-point average and is working on her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology. She is a two-time ASUN Academic Honor Roll and CSC Academic All-District Team selection. She earned ASUN Indoor Field Performer of the Week on Jan. 20, the first in program history. She secured the Women's High Jump title with a bar of 1.73m at the ASUN Indoor Championships. She placed first in the event twice in her three meets this season. She posted a personal-best bar of 1.75m to finish third at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational.
