
Men's Basketball Falls At Queens (NC)

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – North Florida Men's Basketball split its road trip after it fell at Queens (NC), 91-72, at Curry Arena on Saturday.Â
Redshirt sophomore guard/forward Mason Lee turned in a team-high 16 points on 4-7 from the field, 2-4 from three and 6-6 from the free-throw line, in addition to six rebounds in 27 minutes. He has reached 10 or more points in three-straight games.Â

Senior guard Kamrin Oriol added 15 points on 5-11 from the field and 5-9 from three in 30 minutes. He has turned in double figures in 24 of 25 games. Â

Freshman guard/forward BJ Plummer knocked down a pair of threes to open the scoring for North Florida. Oriol's third three of the first half extended the lead to 19-13 at the 13:19-minute mark of the first half. Oriol opened the game 3-3 from three.Â
Lee finished an and-one in the lane to push the margin to 27-20 at the 11:02-mintute mark of the first half. Lee turned in 13 points in the first half.Â
Graduate student guard Devin Hines finished a driving layup in traffic to make the halftime score 51-50 in favor of Queens (NC). North Florida connected on 56 percent from the field and 54 percent from three in the first half.Â
Graduate student forward Nestor Dyachok added a pair through the foul and hit his free throw to propel North Florida to a 62-58 lead at the 17:09-minute mark of the second half. Queens (NC) responded with a 18-1 run to take a 76-63 lead.Â
The game featured nine lead changes and six ties.Â
North Florida travels to Fort Myers, Fla. to face FGCU on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.
