
Kolbe Notches Second-Career ASUN Track Athlete of the Week Honor

JACKSONVILLE - After making national noise at the East Coast Relays, Smilla Kolbe was awarded for the second time this season, as well as her career, with ASUN Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
Kolbe become the first Osprey in program history to run a sub-2 minute time in there women's 800m with what was the top mark in the nation. Her time in the 800m race ranks third all-time in the history of NCAA track & field.
Among the national accomplishments, she reset the program record and shot to the top of the facility record books for Visit Jax Track in her first-ever race on her home track. Her mark also holds the seventh-fastest time in the world in the home regular season finale.
The senior is the first women's Osprey since Brianna Frazier during the 2012 season to bring in a pair of ASUN Athlete of the Weeks for outdoor track in the same season. It's also the first season since 2017 with two more ASUN weekly awards from UNF.
Kolbe will return with North Florida track & field for the ASUN Outdoor Championships from May 15-17 at Visit Jax Track.
