Track & Field Ready For Split Outdoor Weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida track and field will send split squads to compete in the Florida Relays and the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic from Apr. 4-5 in Gainesville & Daytona Beach, Fla.

Aiden O'Gorman shattered his own program record in the 10,000m with a personal-best 28:18.59, cutting over 40 seconds off his previous mark, at the Raleigh Relays. Pedroza also delivered an outstanding performance at UCF's Black & Gold Invitational, running 3:42.32 in the 1500m.

The Ospreys made history in the men's 4x100m relay as well at UCF, with Jonathan Bailey, Rey Hernandez, Matthew Groves, and William Owens clocking 40.82 to break a record that had stood since 2015.

Men's Events

Jacob Hippo and Tyshone Bolden each cleared 2.01m in the high jump, tying in the event.
The men's 4x100m relay team opened their outdoor season with a time of 40.82, finishing just outside the top 10.
Rey Hernandez led UNF in the 400m, placing in the top 25 with a time of 48.58.
Gavin O'Brien secured a top-three finish in the 2000m steeplechase with a time of 5:48.57.

Women's Events

Nicole Shepherd impressed in the high jump, securing fourth place with a mark of 1.68m.
Drea Thompson followed closely behind in the high jump, tying for sixth with a mark of 1.63m.
The women's 4x100m relay team clocked 46.71, securing a top-12 finish.
Annika Buser delivered a standout performance in the 2000m steeplechase, finishing as the runner-up with a time of 7:00.06.
