
Track And Field Heads to Wake Forest And Georgia Tech Invitationals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida Track and Field is set to compete in both the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Friday, April 18, and the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga., from April 18-19.
Smilla Kolbe delivered a historic performance at the Florida Relays breaking the program record in the women's 800m with a time of 2:01.18. Aiden O'Gorman broke his own school record in the 10,000m at the Raleigh Relays earlier this season, running a personal-best 28:18.59 and cutting over 40 seconds off his previous time. At UCF's Black & Gold Invitational, Robert Pedroza ran a strong 3:42.32 in the 1500m.

The Ospreys are set to host their second home meet of the season at the East Coast Relays, taking place from May 2-3 in Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium.

- Aiden Arnold placed sixth overall in the 1500m invite with a time of 3:43.65, continuing his strong season.
- Sebastian Hernandez finished in the top eight in the 5000m, closing out last Friday's action at UF on a high note.
- William Owens placed fourth in the 100m final at 10.59, followed with a fifth-place finish in the 200m final at 21.22.
- Troy Williams was .01 of a second short of the program record with a runner-up finish in the 400mH at 52.52.
Women's Events
- Ana Markovina opened the meet with a seventh-place finish in the 1500m, clocking 4:36.44.
- Laci Watford represented UNF in the 5000m, placing 13th overall with a time of 17:51.23.
- Bella Palmiotto was the runner-up in the triple jump with a stellar make of 11.65m.
- Kolbe broke the program record with a blazing time of 2:01.18, the second-fastest mark in the nation this season.
