CARROLLTON, Ga. - North Florida softball clinched its spot in the ASUN Championship tournament while splitting a doubleheader day against West Georgia on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Ospreys took the first game against UWG in run-rule fashion with nine runs in six innings.
Allison Benning put UNF over the top with a two-run homer to tie the D-I program mark for career home runs at 31 total.
In the second game,
Macie Hunolt was lights out from the circle with 10 strikeouts in just over five innings, including two frames of three consecutive punch outs. A late rally from the Wolves in the fifth put them up and they kept the lead through seven.
