STATESBORO, Ga. – North Florida baseball fell to Georgia Southern, 11-1, at J.I. Clements Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Georgia Southern struck in the bottom of the first inning when a leadoff single and stolen base put a runner in scoring position. After the runner advanced to third on a fly out to center field, the Eagles placed a single through the left side to drive in their initial run.

The Ospreys threatened in the top of the third inning when junior Finn Howell ripped a stand up double to left field and redshirt sophomore Nick Monile drew a subsequent walk to have runners on first and second with one out. Georgia Southern caught Howell stealing third and induced a fly ball in the next at-bat to get out of the jam.

Georgia Southern extended its lead in the bottom of the third with a three-run shot before it added another run in the frame on an error that made the score 5-0.

UNF responded in the top of the fourth inning. Senior Cade Bush prompted a walk to lead off the frame before a single from redshirt freshman Carter White put Ospreys on the corners with no outs. Junior Santiago Ordonez plated the Ospreys' lone run of the game with a single through the left side. Georgia Southern induced a double play and got an inning-ending strikeout to limit further damage.

The Eagles plated a pair of runs in the fourth, one in the sixth and three more in the seventh to push the margin to the eventual final.
