JACKSONVILLE - Kylah Berry tallied a great showing in the circle during North Florida softball's conference home-opening weekend to be awarded her first career ASUN Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Berry becomes the third Osprey pitcher this season to be recognized with a conference honor, as well as the fourth honoree of the award in over the past month. UNF continues to rack up ASUN weekly awards with seven of the 14 total given out between player and pitcher distinctions through seven weeks this season.
"Really happy for Kylah [Berry]. She's been battling injuries the majority of her time here, but is getting to a point where she is feeling good," said head coach Jeff Conrad. "She brings a ton of value in her relief efforts and is healthy enough finally to be able to give us some starts."
The junior from Rockledge, Fla., did not allow a single run to score in her five innings pitched with seven strikeouts against West Georgia. She picked up a win and a save in the circle to extend her record to 3-0 this year, while also leading the team with three saves.
Berry looks to keep her hot streak in the circle going during the River City Rumble at Jacksonville from Mar. 27-29.
