
Track & Field Takes On UCF Black & Gold Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida track and field is preparing for an exciting season-opening road trip to compete in the Black & Gold Invitational at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex. The event is set from Mar. 21-22, where UNF will take on strong competition and strive for standout performances in their events.
The Ospreys are coming off a successful home-opening outdoor meet, where they dominated the distance races with Aaron Schimke and Laci Watford recorded personal-bests with top finishes in the 10,000m race. EJ O'Gorman also made waves with a top placement as well in the 5000m event in her return back from a season-long injury.
Men
Women
The Ospreys will make their way to Raleigh, N.C., to compete in the Raleigh Relays over two days of action from Mar. 27-28.

Men
- Schimke was the standout performer on the men's side, clocking a best of 14:39.29 in the 5000m.
- Ilias El Khattabi led the Ospreys' 1500m runners, securing a runner-up finish with a time of 3:51.18.
- Rashad Hemissi, Ladarius Tellis, and El Khattabi delivered strong performances in the 800m, finishing fourth through sixth.
- Colton Lawson and Alejandro Romagosa put up a solid showing in the 5000m, placing fifth and sixth.
Women
- Watford delivered the best race of her collegiate career, clocking an impressive 17:25.39 as the top finisher in the 5000m event.
- O'Gorman made a triumphant return from a year-long injury, placing first overall in the 1500m with a time of 4:39.06.
- Madeline Castillo, Brooke Yates, and Abigail Williams followed closely behind Watford to secure the top four overall spots in the 5000m.
- Jada Williams had a strong showing in multiple events, finishing as the runner-up in the 800m, while Annika Buser took third.
