JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -Â Five hitters recorded multi-hit games as North Florida defeated Brown 7-4 in game one of a doubleheader Saturday from Harmon Stadium.
UNF (4-2) struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Nick Monile and Carter White hit back-to-back singles to start the inning. Two batters later, Monile stole third and scored on a throwing error by the Bears' catcher.
Leading 1-0 in the fourth, Connor Moore smacked a leadoff single. With a runner at first, Bates (1) ripped a two-run home run which extended the Osprey lead to 3-0.
North Florida's bats did not slow down. In the fifth, Monile and White hit back-to-back singles again to start the inning. With runners at the corners, Moore laced a two-run triple. Bates brought home Moore on a single as UNF went up 6-0.

With bases full of Bears, DJ Dillehay cracked a bases-clearing double to cut the Brown deficit to three. He'd score on an error two batters later bringing home the fourth run of the inning.
Searching for insurance runs in the eighth, Drew Leinenbach doubled to left field. A sac-bunt by Mitchel Collins moved him to third and a sac-fly from Monile extended the Osprey lead to 7-4.
