JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida track and field has officially announced its schedule for the 2026 indoor and outdoor competition seasons, as announced by Director of Golf Jeff Pigg on Tuesday afternoon.
UNF will be hosts to three outdoor meets this upcoming season with the River City Relays from Mar. 19-20, the East Coast Relays from May 1-2 and the ASUN Outdoor Championships from May 14-16. This will be the 16th time over the last 17 seasons that Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium will be hosting the ASUN Outdoor Championships.
The Ospreys will compete in four events during indoor season, followed with eight events during the outdoor season. Each season will be finished at the ASUN Championships with the indoor meet being set from Feb. 27-28 and the outdoor meet going from May 14-16.
Last season's ASUN Outdoor Championship hosted by UNF saw 20 Ospreys between both the men's and women's squad earn All-ASUN honors with five being recognized as event champions with First Team All-ASUN recognition. Smilla Kolbe highlighted the 2025 track season becoming the first ever UNF student-athlete to earn First Team All-American honors for both indoor and outdoor seasons in the women's 800m event.
UNF has sent eight competitors over the last three seasons to the NCAA East Region First Round. They will be seeking an appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the fourth straight season, as well as the seventh time in nine seasons.
"We have an exciting schedule planned for the indoor and outdoor seasons," stated Pigg. "Florida Relays, Georgia Tech Invitational and our East Coast Relays will highlight the meets. We'll see some great competition, which will provide great opportunities for our teams."
For the third time in four years, the Ospreys will begin their indoor campaign at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational on Friday, Jan. 16, in Gainesville, Fla. It will be followed by two more regular season meets in Gainesville at the ACSEC Invitational from Jan. 23-24 and the Visit Gainesville Indoor Classic on Feb. 6.
It will be the fourth consecutive season that all regular season indoor events for the Ospreys will be set in Gainesville. The indoor finale meet at the ASUN Indoor Championships will be in Louisville, Ky., for a second straight year from Feb. 27-28.
Just over two weeks after the end of indoor season, UNF will pick up with the beginning of outdoor season by hosting the River City Relays from Mar. 19-20 at Visit Jax Track. It's the fourth straight time that the Ospreys will be opening outdoor competition on their home track.
After the first home meet of the year, they will split squads for the Mar. 26-28 weekend with select distance runners heading to the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State. The remaining members of the Osprey squad will be heading down to compete in the UCF Knights Invite in Orlando, Fla.
The following weekend, UNF will take its fourth and final trip of the 2026 track season to Gainesville, Fla., where they will face off against the nation's best in the Florida Relays from Apr. 3-4. The final two weekends of the season come shortly after with the Lee Fast Break Invitational from April 10-11 in Cleveland, Tenn., along with the Georgia Tech Invitational in its road finale from April 17-18 in Atlanta, Ga., for a fifth straight season.
The Ospreys will cap off its regular season with senior weekend back at Visit Jax Track as hosts to the East Coast Relays from May 1-2. It will be the sixth consecutive season that UNF will end its regular season at home leading into the conference meet.
From May 14-16, UNF will once again look to make their mark hosting the ASUN Outdoor Championships at Visit Jax Track. The postseason will continue for select athletes who qualify for the NCAA East Region Region First Round from May 27-30 in Lexington, Ky., and the NCAA Outdoor Championships from June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore., at Hayward Field.
