
Oriol Named ASUN Player Of The Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida Men's Basketball senior guard Kamrin Oriol was named ASUN Player of the Week on Monday.Â

It marked the first conference weekly honor for North Florida this season and first ASUN weekly honor for Oriol.Â

Oriol averaged 29.0 points on 50.0 percent from the field, 52.9 percent from three and 86.7 percent from the free-throw line, in addition to 2.5 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 35.2 minutes per game in North Florida's two games last week.

Oriol turned in 29 points in each outing to extend his season total to five games with 20 or more points. Oriol notched 29 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists in 35 minutes at Charleston Southern on Dec. 18. He followed up that performance with 29 points on 8-14 from the field, 7-10 from three and 6-8 from the free-throw line with three assists in 35 minutes at RV Miami (FL) on Dec. 21. The seven threes made at Miami (FL) marked a career-high for Oriol and the most by an Osprey this season.Â

The 29 points at Miami (FL) marked the highest total against a Power Four opponent since Dallas Moore scored 34 points at Arkansas on Dec. 10, 2016.Â

North Florida closes out its non-conference slate when it hosts Columbia on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. ET at UNF Arena on ESPN+.
