
Women's Basketball Drops Final Non-Conference Battle At Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – North Florida Women's Basketball fell to Clemson, 84-62, to close out its non-conference slate at the Littlejohn Coliseum on Sunday.Â
Junior guard Alonya Waldon turned in a team-high 11 points on 3-5 from the field, 2-2 from three and 3-4 from the free-throw line in 19 minutes. It marked her fifth game of the season and the 16th of her career in double figures. Freshman forward Dezuray McGill and junior guard/forward Karyzma Pierre each added on eight points.
Sophomore guard Jamisyn Stinson knocked down a jump shot to open the scoring before Clemson responded with a 9-0 run to take a 9-2 lead. Clemson led 23-14 after the first quarter with six points of the total for North Florida from Waldon.
Waldon and freshman guard Jamison Cardwell led the way for North Florida in the first half with six points apiece. Clemson secured a 51-26 lead at the half.
North Florida outscored Clemson, 16-15, in the third quarter and limited its hosts to only 26.1 percent from the field in the period.
11 Ospreys entered the scoring column and eight different players knocked down at least one three to help North Florida connected on 52.6 percent (10-19) from behind the arc.
