
Men's Basketball Falls At Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – North Florida Men's Basketball fell at Wofford, 86-78, at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on Wednesday night.
Senior guard Kamrin Oriol turned in his fourth-straight game with 10 or more points to open the season with 22 points on 8-16 from the field and 4-7 from three in 34 minutes. Freshman guard/forward BJ Plummer notched a career-high 16 points on 5-7 from the field and 4-6 from three in 19 minutes.
Redshirt sophomore guard/forward Mason Lee added 13 points on 5-10 from the field, in addition to four rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes, while sophomore guard Kent Jackson posted 10 points, four rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes.
Oriol has scored 52 points in the last two games. North Florida has now played three of its first four games on the road to open the season.
North Florida opened the largest lead of the first half at 24-16 when redshirt freshman guard Taylor Thompson found Plummer from a three from the left arc. After Wofford tied it at 32-32 with 2:01 minutes left before halftime, freshman guard/forward Trey Cady knocked down a three to push the margin back to a one-possession advantage for North Florida. North Florida led 35-34 at the half.
Plummer and Jackson led all Ospreys with seven first-half points each.
Wofford pushed its lead to 59-51 on an 8-0 run over 2:16 minutes of action in the initial minutes of the second half. Oriol knocked down a stepback three from the top of the arc – his third three of the game – to trim the deficit back to two scores at 61-56 at the 8:58-minute mark of the second half.
Plummer buried back-to-back threes in the final minute of regulation to eclipse his career-high point total.
North Florida connected on 42.3 percent on 14-33 from three. North Florida assisted on 18 of its 29 made field-goals and were led by four assists each from Jackson and Lee.
North Florida travels to Pensacola, Fla. to compete in the multi-team 2025 Pensacola Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 24-25 at the Pensacola Bay Center.
