
Oriol Scores Career-High 30 Points, Men's Basketball Handles New College of Florida, 122-67

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior guard Kamrin Oriol scored a career-high 30 points to propel North Florida Men's Basketball past New College of Florida, 122-67, at UNF Arena on Saturday.Â
The 122 points scored marked a Division-I program record. In addition to his 30 points, Oriol added nine rebounds, four assists and four steals on 12-16 from the field in 29 minutes. Bobby Kennen earned his first win as Head Coach.Â
Redshirt sophomore guard/forward Mason Lee recorded a career-high 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists on 5-8 from the field in 23 minutes. Freshman guard/forward BJ Plummer turned in a career-high 14 points on 5-7 from the field and 3-5 from three in 19 minutes. Â
Oriol, Lee and Plummer were joined by sophomore guard Kent Jackson, freshman guard/forward Trey Cady and graduate forward Nestor Dyachok for six Ospreys in double figures.Â
Oriol posted 17 points, six rebounds and three assists on 6-8 from the field in the first half. North Florida went on a 13-2 run over the final 3:06 minutes of the first half to secure a 55-43 lead at the break.Â
North Florida opened the second half with a 14-0 run in the first 2:43 minutes of action. North Florida maintained that momentum and built a 73-47 lead at the second-half under-16 minute media timeout.Â
North Florida outscored its visitors 67-24 in the second half. North Florida forced 25 turnovers and turned it into 36-4 in points off turnovers. North Florida posted a 30-6 margin in second-chance points.Â
North Florida heads to Spartanburg, S.C. to battle Wofford on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The game will be aired on ESPN+.
