JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida Athletics Department is proud to announce the rebranding of its athletic giving program, transitioning from the Osprey Club to the newly revitalized Osprey Boosters.
This transformation represents a major step in modernizing how donors engage with and support UNF's 19 NCAA Division I athletic programs, while creating new opportunities for student-athletes both on and off the field.
At the core of this relaunch is the introduction of a streamlined and modern giving model anchored by the new Swoop Impact Fund. This fund consolidates the Annual Fund, Athletic Scholarships, and Athletics Facilities into one unrestricted account.
The Swoop Impact Fund is designed to support strategic priorities and enhancements that may not be covered by standard departmental budgets. It provides essential resources to all 19 UNF athletic teams, directly benefiting more than 340 student-athletes through scholarships, facility improvements, academic support, nutrition, equipment, and travel. By integrating these key areas into a single fund, UNF Athletics aims to increase transparency, simplify donor participation, and amplify impact across the board.
"The launch of Osprey Boosters marks a pivotal moment for UNF Athletics," Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Nick Morrow stated. "This new model not only simplifies how our supporters can contribute, but it also ensures their generosity directly fuels the growth and success of our student-athletes. We're building something that's sustainable, impactful and aligned with the future of collegiate athletics — and the support of Osprey Nation is critical to accomplishing our goals."
As part of this new model, each athletic program will now feature two distinct giving avenues: an Operating Fund and a Talent Fund.
This change is expected to significantly increase UNF's scholarship obligations, with the projected cost to become fully funded rising to more than $8.45 million — even before direct revenue-sharing with student-athletes comes into effect. As a result, donor support is more critical than ever as UNF adapts to the new realities of Division I athletics.
"This model offers greater clarity and flexibility for our supporters, while helping us invest in both the immediate needs and long-term success of our student-athletes," said Matthew Lisiewski, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.
In addition to the new fund structure, each sport will now offer customized donor benefits that provide fans and alumni with a more personal and meaningful connection to the teams they care most about. These benefits may include exclusive team access, branded gear, special events and other unique experiences designed to reward and recognize those who invest in UNF Athletics and the pursuit of excellence.
The launch of Osprey Boosters is a key part of UNF Athletics' broader strategy to adapt to the rapidly changing collegiate athletics landscape. It is designed to ensure student-athletes are supported holistically — not just in competition, but academically, mentally, and socially. As the department prepares for the future, it remains focused on building a first-class experience for its student-athletes, powered by the passion and generosity of the Osprey community.

- The Operating Fund will support team-specific needs such as travel, recruiting, equipment and general day-to-day operations.
- The Talent Fund creates a new pathway for donors to help UNF Athletics remain competitive in today's evolving collegiate landscape by supporting scholarship enhancements and revenue-sharing opportunities for student-athletes.
