Matthew Lisiewski joined the North Florida Athletics Department as Senior Associate AD of Development January 24, 2022. Lisiewski most recently served in a similar role as Senior Associate Director of Development at the University of Dayton.
Lisiewski takes over as the lead for UNF Athletics Development unit Monday, January 24 and will be responsible for all UNF Athletics fundraising efforts. He will also serve as the director of the Osprey Club.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank Director of Athletics Nick Morrow for entrusting me with this incredible opportunity,” Lisiewski said. “It is truly an honor to join his team and be a part of the North Florida family. I look forward to working with our dedicated and passionate UNF alumni, fans, supporters and colleagues as we continue to enhance our athletics programs and provide a world class experience for our student-athletes. My family and I are so excited to move to the great city of Jacksonville and I cannot wait to get started. Go Ospreys!”
Lisiewski worked his way into the senior position at UD after joining the Flyers’ athletic department in June of 2016 as the assistant director of athletic development before being promoted in June of 2019. With Dayton, Lisiewski was part of a development team that completed a three-year, $76 million renovation of the University of Dayton Arena, the largest construction project in the university's history.
At UD, Lisiewski was charged with donor relations across the country with an emphasis on the southeast region of the U.S. He also traveled with the Dean of the School of Business Administration (SBA) to meet on major gift prospects.
Originally entering into the sports world via broadcast production and video operations, Lisiewski possesses a varied background that has served him well in the development sphere. Prior to his time at Dayton, Lisiewski spent a decade in the greater D.C. area with stops at George Washington University and the University of Maryland.
At George Washington, Lisiewski served as the director of basketball operations for the GWU men’s basketball program for five years, managing a six-figure budget, supervising staff and student managers, coordinating team travel, working in donor relations, equipment management and more.
Prior to that stop, Lisiewski worked with the Terrapins’ men’s basketball program as the video director from November of 2006 to May of 2011. Lisiewski worked directly with the student-athletes, student staff and coaching staff for a team that went to the NCAA Tournament three times during his tenure.
After graduating with his bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Florida in 2002, Lisiewski got his start as a production assistant with Fox Sports in Los Angeles, Calif. He then joined Southern Methodist University for a two-year stint as a graduate manager with the SMU men’s basketball team.
Lisiewski is a member of the National Associate of Athletic Development Directors and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. He has participated in the Collegiate Athletics Leadership Symposium and in the TopConnect AD Leadership Symposium.
