Schell Shines in Osprey Debut at 1-Under 69

LOUDON, Tenn. - North Florida men's golf sit in the middle of the pack with a share of seventh of 16 teams after its debut round of the 2024 season at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate hosted by Tennessee on Friday afternoon.

The Ospreys were headlined by sixth-year transfer Brett Schell from Ole Miss making his Osprey debut after receiving a redshirt during the 2023-24 season. He joined Jason Duff as top-30 individuals for UNF after shooting 1-under and even-par respectively during their first round of the year.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

Schell birdied in three of this first five holes played, as well as three birdies on the back nine, including back-to-back to close out his round.
He scored 1-under 69 to enter the top 20 overall in his debut with the Ospreys.
The Saint Augustine, Fla., native's score gives him his 27th round under par and 12th round in the 60s in his collegiate career.
Duff handled a rough start well with three birdies on the back nine to stay at even-par through 18 holes.
He joins Schell in the top 30 overall after his late push on the second half of play.
Erickson made his collegiate debut as the No. 2 player for UNF with a trio of birdies for 1-over 71.
Serra carded three birdies on the front, as well as eight pars on the back, to stand at 2-over 72.
Carroll matches Serra's score of 2-over 72 with another trio of birdies, including back-to-back on the turn.
