Women’s Tennis Takes Home Nine Victories on Day Two at UNC Asheville

Ospreys Win Five of Six Doubles Matches

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - North Florida women's tennis put forth another successful day at UNC Asheville's Emily McNall Classic, winning the majority of its matches on day two Saturday, Sept. 14.

North Florida won four of seven singles competitions, while taking home five of six doubles matches. The Ospreys defeated foes from Wofford, UNC Asheville and Presbyterian on the way to nine total victories.

Nicole Alfaro Solis joined Aryana Bartlett and Goyins with her first-ever singles win at North Florida, defeating Brianna Wilbur of Wofford in straight sets. Bartlett also downed her foe in two frames.

Laurie Barendse got tough in the third set, winning 10-8 to come away with a 2-1 win against Breda Brennan of Wofford. Long stayed perfect in singles play with her own two-set win.

Barendse and Bartlee along with Long and Alfaro Solis took home a pair of doubles wins, while Jasmin Makela and Gabby Goyins added a 6-4 win against a duo from Presbyterian.

North Florida wraps up its weekend in Asheville tomorrow.
