
Softball Garners Five Selections to CSC Academic All-District Team

Most Selections for Ospreys in Program History
GREENWOOD, Ind. - North Florida softball announces the selections of Allison Benning, Shannon Glover, Halle Arends, Hadlee Reichert and Madisyn Federico to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced by the national organization on Tuesday afternoon.
The Ospreys earned five selections for the first time in program history, which more than doubles their mark of CSC academic awards since 2013. Glover picks up their second-career honor from the institution, while the remaining four players are first-time recipients.
Arends and Glover both finished pursuing their masters degrees this semester as two of the longest tenured Ospreys on the team. They each completed graduate programs, as Arends earned a 3.71 GPA marketing & business management and Glover had a 3.66 GPA in business administration and.
For the undergraduate players, Benning earned a 3.92 GPA in communications and multimedia journalism, while Federico notched a 3.85 GPA in interdisciplinary health science and Reichert recorded a 3.69 GPA in communications. The softball team also reached new heights in the classroom with a program-record high mark for a 3.62 GPA.
The 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's finest student-athletes on and off the field. Honorees advance to the All-American round, with CSC Academic All-America Team selections released on Tuesday, Jun. 18.
About the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Award
The 2024 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 18. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
