D'Anna Joins Fellow Junior on All-Academic Team
ATLANTA - After earning ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year for indoor track & field in February, Smilla Kolbe repeats her recognition as the ASUN Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for outdoor track & field, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Kolbe garners her second recognition of the season as Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as well as an All-Academic selection from the conference. Celine D'Anna adds another Osprey selection to the ASUN All-Academic Team to give UNF women's track & field multiple academic selections for the first time since 2019.
"Most of the women on the team are tremendous students. They are intelligent and they are driven," said head coach Jeff Pigg. "That is a great combination for success in the classroom room. I'm especially proud of these two being honored for their efforts."
Both juniors excelled in the classroom, as Kolbe currently holds a 4.0 GPA pursuing her degree in psychology & criminal justice, while D'Anna is majoring in health science with a 3.66 GPA. Both runners made podium finishes at the ASUN Outdoor Championships with Kolbe notching first in the 800m race, followed by D'Anna grabbing second in the 400m hurdles.
Kolbe will return to represent the Ospreys in regional postseason competition, as she recently qualified for the NCAA East Regional First Round in the 800m race set for Thursday, May 23, in Lexington, Ky.

Junior; Lecanto, Fla.
