Ospreys Defeat North Alabama, Swept by No. 4 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - North Florida beach volleyball (16-8) split its first day at the FSU Unconquered Invitational, falling 4-1 in a tough battle with No. 4 Florida State and claiming a 4-1 victory over conference foes North Alabama.

Iris Fletcher and Katie Camp were the only pair to go undefeated on the day, picking up the lone match point against the Seminoles. The Ospreys turned things around against North Alabama claiming four match points, just missing out on the sweep.

The Seminoles got out to an early 1-0 lead in the fourth flight, but Iris Fletcher/Katie Camp were able to tie things up for the Ospreys, taking their court in two sets. Florida State pulled away with two more match points in the first and second pairs. Presley Murray/Madison Espy took their match to three sets, but were unable to overcome the fourth ranked team in the country.

The Ospreys got back to winning ways with every flight winning but one. North Alabama grabbed its only match point in a second set that was won with 29 points. Michaela Rezentes and Taylor Pierce were taken to three sets, but were unable to come out on top, giving the Ospreys their 16th win of the season.
