Benning Spins Complete-Game One-Hitter
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida softball (29-14, 13-4 ASUN) had an exceptional performance in the circle from two-way star Allison Benning, as she struck out six batters and only allowed one hit through seven frames to shut out Jacksonville (20-21, 10-7 ASUN), 4-0, and take the River City Rumble series on Saturday evening.
Much similar to what occurred 24 hours earlier, the Ospreys came out firing with four runs scored in the first inning. Shannon Glover was the catalyst of the spark on offense with a three-run bomb for her fifth of the season.
The rest of the game was smooth sailing behind the arm of Benning, as neither team scored after the top of the opening frame. The junior picked up her 17th win on the season in the circle, while also notching a hit and a run scored from the plate.
