Ospreys Take Down UNCW, Fall to Coastal Carolina

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. - North Florida beach volleyball (17-11) split its first day at the College of Charleston Beach Classic, taking down UNCW (18-9) 3-2 and falling in a tight affair to Coastal Carolina (20-6) 3-2.

The pair of Iris Fletcher and Katie Camp went undefeated on the day, improving their record to 11-1 on the season. Fletcher and Camp are currently on a ten-match win streak and have only lost one match all season.

The Ospreys got out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to wins from Murray/Espy and Fletcher/Camp. The Seahawks got their first match point in the third flight to make it 2-1. Feliciano Sanchez and Murphy clinched the winning point for the Ospreys in the fifth flight, as the Ospreys took down UNCW 3-2 to kick things off with a win.

Michaela Rezentes and Taylor Pierce got back to winning ways in the top slot for the Ospreys, taking their match in two sets. Fletcher/Camp improved to 11-1 on the season with their second win on the day, which came in three sets. Despite the two and five slots taking their matches to three sets, the Ospreys ultimately fell in their final match of the first day in South Carolina.
