Ospreys Totaled 16 Combined Top-Three Placements

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida track and field had a luxurious start as hosts to its outdoor season debut, as six different athletes sat atop their respective races in the inaugural Bob Hayes Collegiate Invitational on Friday afternoon.

The Ospreys showed out for the 3000mS and the 10,000m with Jada Williams and Gavin O'Brien placing first in the steeplechase, while Hannah Martin and Seth Martinez won the final races of the night in the 10k. Erica Fisher also won the women's 5000m race, along with Robert Pedroza running unattached for a first overall finish in the men's 1500m.

FINISH LINE

Men

Ladarius Tellis started the men off with a 13th-place finish in the 800m with a mark of just over two minutes.
Jacob Hippo continued his momentum from indoor season with a runner-up position in the high jump, followed with Tariq LaJoie in fourth overall.
Robert Pedroza ran as an unattached athlete and placed first overall, while Ryan Douihech notched a personal-best time right behind him in second.
Gavin O'Brien, Colton Lawson and Ben Tary went 1-2-3 in the 3000m steeplechase in a six-man field.
Seth Martinez was the other first-place finish for the men in the final race of the night for the 10,000m with a lifetime best mark.
Paul Lespasio also placed in the top three of the 10k, while Sebastian Hernandez, Aaron Schimke, who ran unattached, and Justin Tackling rounded out the top 10.

Women

Serenity Miller and Camryn Batt each had top eight placements in the 100mH and 100m respectively.
Celine D'Anna had a personal-best time as the runner-up in the 400mH.
Mariama Kamara was the top Osprey in the 200m, while Navia Casa had a top-10 finish in the 800m as well.
Kamara was placed seventh in the triple jump, along with Rafaela Marchini going sixth and eighth overall in the long and triple jumps.
Nichole Shepherd had a third overall placement for UNF to finish out the field events for the day.
Ana Markovina also finished third in the 1500m, followed by Laci Watford finishing 10th with a personal-best time.
Jada Williams and Erica Fisher were the lone Osprey runners in their respective events and they each were the top finishers for the 3000mS and 5000m respectively.
Hannah Martin, Emma Millson and Billie Castillo capped off the night for the women in the 10,000m for first through third finishes.

UP NEXT

The Ospreys return for the second and final day of the Bob Hayes Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 18, starting with the women's 100m at 3:40 p.m., at Visit Jax Track in Hodges Stadium.
