Ella Chandler Leads Day with Top Finish in Women's 800m

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - North Florida track and field vanquished several contenders during the second day of competition at the RADD Sports College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Ella Chandler led the Ospreys to an astonishing top placement in the 800m. The sophomore clinched the race in 2:16.85, compiling the lone first-place finish of the meet for the Ospreys.

FINISH LINE

Men

Ryan Douihech secured a top-10 placement in the men's mile run.
Camden Springer notched a sixth-place rank overall for the men's 400-meter dash.
Springer out-sprinted roughly 32 contenders on the second day of the invitational.

Women

Ella Chandler clinched a first-place finish in the women's 800m.
Smilla Kolbe earned a second-place title in the women's mile run.
Kolbe clocked in at 4:49.71, ousting 36 contenders.
Ana Markovina notched a seventh-place finish in the women's mile run.
Celine D'Anna snatched a second-place rank in her respective heat, securing sixth overall for the women's 400-meter dash.
Melissa Epting went top 10 in the women's 400-meter dash.

"Ella [Chandler] ran a very smart tactical race for the win. She is fit and is gaining some valuable indoor experience. Smilla [Kolbe] and Ana [Markovina] both ran very well in the mile. Smilla's time of 4:49 is a great opener for an 800m specialist. Camden [Springer] continued a strong weekend with a 49.2 in the 400m. All of the events are good experience, as we have a short time to prepare for the ASUN Championships. I think our teams made the most of the opportunity."

The Ospreys will take a one-week hiatus, then travel back to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the Celebration Pointe Indoor Classic from Feb. 2–3 at the Alachua County Sports Complex.
