Ella Chandler Leads Day with Top Finish in Women's 800m
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - North Florida track and field vanquished several contenders during the second day of competition at the RADD Sports College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Ella Chandler led the Ospreys to an astonishing top placement in the 800m. The sophomore clinched the race in 2:16.85, compiling the lone first-place finish of the meet for the Ospreys.
Men
"Ella [Chandler] ran a very smart tactical race for the win. She is fit and is gaining some valuable indoor experience. Smilla [Kolbe] and Ana [Markovina] both ran very well in the mile. Smilla's time of 4:49 is a great opener for an 800m specialist. Camden [Springer] continued a strong weekend with a 49.2 in the 400m. All of the events are good experience, as we have a short time to prepare for the ASUNÂ Championships. I think our teams made the most of the opportunity."
